I have a 2007 Palomino Pony 280. I would like to know if I can mount a two-inch receiver hitch on the back bumper. Not to tow anything but to insert a bicycle rack.

I would certainly make sure that this receiver is welded directly to a main frame member and not just attached to the bumper.

Before you start get a true scale weight on the tounge weight and total trailer weight. As the receiver, rack, and bikes will affect the tongue weight, usually to the point of making the trailer untowable due to sway induced by the new too low tongue weight. You need 10% minimum to keep the trailer tracking.

Cabela's sells a bolt on 2" receiver for the 4" Square bumpers on RV's designed for adding a bike rack.

Bikes on the back of a pup have resulted in a lot of disasters. It gets awfully bouncy back there, even if you don't end up taking too much weight off the tongue for stability.
Not saying it can't be done, but it HAS been done disasterously quite a few times. Tread cautiously!

I assume you have the square tube type bumper. Make sure the bumper is welded the entire length at the seam. Not all bumpers are. If not the stress put on by clamping the receiver on and the weight of the bikes could cause the bumper to buckle.
Upon investigation I found that your trailer only has a c-channel type bumper. That would be totally unacceptable to mount anything on.

If you decide to do it, secure whatever to the main beams and not the cheesy bumper.

Put a 2" receiver on the front of your TV and add a bike rack there instead of the back of the pup......

I have a Pro Rac on my pop up. It works good. One thing I did do was to run a long Bungee cord or two from the back tires of the bikes to the back bumper. It keeps the back tires of the bikes from dancing around. One word of caution is with the bikes on the roof you may have to watch for low clearances. I almost learned the hard way after I pulled under a motels canopy and got out and noticed that the seat on my bike cleared the canopy by an inch.
