Has anyone else have a proplem with RV.net being such a slow site. We are in Mexico and have a slow connection 2x dailup speed, but I can download other forum pages from all other sites in about 5 seconds but RV.net takes 60-90 seconds for each page. I checked the properties for the downloaded pages on rv.net and the size is not any bigger than otherforum sites. I guess maybe they just have really crappy servers.

No problems whatsoever for me lately. Never tried it on dialup though, hopefully it will get better.

I can't figure why a 50,000 byte page on Mexconnect or IN THE ROO takes 5 seconds to download but the same size page on RV.net takes 60-90 seconds.

All of the portals have been very slow for me. I thought it might be because of my upgrade to Windows 7. I use both IE and Firefox and pages either don't open or are very slow on both.

Using a cellular connection over the weekend and a cable connection since, I've not seen any slowdown. Well, the cellular connection was slower than the cable connection, but not slower than one would expect for Rev A Verizon.

I have reliable DSL service in good old So Cal and I also have a heck of a time loading pages from this site. I don't encounter this problem with any other website. Frankly, it's frustrating enough for me not to visit this site as often as I used to.

During the spring there were sporadic reports of slowness that not everyone was experiencing. The problems were on Vista and Linux machines. In many cases, the problems were resolved by updates.

Here are two threads.

Forum Access extreamly slow

RV.net slow on Linux machines

On occasion, maybe a couple times a week, on average, I will have a page seem to hang. I click on my browser's Stop button and then on its refresh page button and the page loads.

Hope you find a solution for your problem.

Thanks for the replies. So it does sound like there is a problem with their site. I have tried emailing their tech support but they don't answer. Oh well I just will continue not to goto RV.NET very often.

I don't think you read the threads to which I linked. In those threads the problems were resolved by updates on the members' computers.

I think they have a problem with bad coding on their site or have the servers set up badly (packet sending).
