I'm just asking people to tell about their favorite tow vehicle. Is there a truck you used to have that you wish you didn't give up. Is there one you loved but retired due to old age(high miles) or is the one you have now the best. Maybe you've tried several and loved them all. Please feel free to tell your stories or post pictures of your cherished rides.
I built a truck once. Started with a Dodge club cab short box 4X4 that had a very sick 440 engine, bought another Dodge standard cab long box 3/4 ton 4X4 with a good 360 engine and bad tranny, combined the two, sold the left over parts, and wound up with a Club Cab short box 3/4 ton. THAT was a great little truck!
One of my co-workers wanted to buy it, and I told him $2000. After all, NOBODY would spend that much money on a home-built 1976 Dodge pickup, right? WRONG!!
A week later he came in and counted out 20 $100 bills on the workbench.
Dang!
Just as well, my current truck (see sig) is better for towing the 5er, hauling hay, helping the kids move, towing the boat, etc.
But, sometimes I miss my little home-made truck...
My current 2002 2500HD would have to be the best TV I have ever owned, but that comes with an asterisk.
So far I have never owned a truck that disappointed me. All of my trucks past, and present, would be in the running for that title, if you take into account what they were designed for, and what the alternatives were at the time that I owned each one.
All the current trucks/SUVs in my sig have satisfied me as well.
That's a picture of the best truck I ever had the pleasure of calling "mine" for a couple years (even though the bank was the real owner). 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 Quad Cab 4x4 SLT Laramie with the Cummins of course. In the fall of 02 when these arrived at the dealer, I fell in love and foolishly (financially speaking) traded off my perfectly fine 99 Ram 1500 regular cab 4x4 (very similar to my 95 below) for the beauty above. I was having to work 2 jobs to afford it, but I didn't care, well, not until I got laid off from one job. Then my beauty had to go, couldn't afford it. I sold it to a good buddy of mine, who was strictly a Ford man but wanted a Cummins, and he still has the truck above to this day. In fact, just 2 nights ago he told me he has surpassed 100,000 miles on that truck with no issues with the Cummins or the 47RE (that's right I said 47RE) automatic behind it. He runs his own plumbing business, and the truck is loaded down with equipment and supplies DAILY! Awesome truck, that I wish I could have kept. Buddy STILL refuses to sell it back to me!!
Whatever they are driving now is the Best truck in the world..... Well 90 percent of the time.........

We are driving what is our best towing truck. If we traded I think the story would be what ever we bought or we would be disappointed of course.

My favorite was a 77 Chev K20 that I bought at an auction in 83 for Junk Price. It was really bad, very rusted, motor didn`t run, 4 wheel didn`t work, and they had dropped a tree on it. After 2 years of rebuilding the entire truck from a frame off resto, and rebuilding a rock solid 70 400 small block, it was a pulling fool. I used it hard for many years on the farm, hauling 10-12 ton wagons from the field to the farm, as well as the gooseneck livestock trailer we had. I finally sold it in 97 when I quit farming...it was getting kind of rusty again, but it still ran like a raped ape.
