We spent a week or so in Mountain View, staying at the RV park adjoining the Ozark Folk Center. The folk center is really nice and so is downtown Mt.View, where people gather around the Courthouse square and play music and just hang out. We ate at a little soda fountain that was neat.
We also were in Hot Springs, and there were several places to visit there that were interesting.
And depending on your route, check out Highway 7; it is on a list of the most scenic drives.
This summer we stayed 5 nights at Lake Catherine and 5 nights at Petit Jean. I Highly reccomend both.
From Lake Catherine you can go into Hot Springs and soak in the hot spring water at one the Bath Houses.
From Petit Jean we made a day trip to Mount Magazine and Mount Nebo. Lots of trails if you like to hike and a nice waterfall.
Mount Magazine is very nice and the campground also looked nice. At Mount Nebo you are limited to a 24' trailer. So I suggest a day trip there. If you go up you will talk about the adventure for a long time.
We spent a little time in Arkansas in September, 2008. We also enjoyed Mt. Magazine, Petit Jean, and Lake Ouachita state parks, also Cove Lake COE park.
Garvan Woodlands Park near Hot Springs was beautiful, especially the chapel. http://www.garvangardens.org/discover/anthony-chapel.asp
I understand they have holiday lights during the time you'll be visiting.

Lake Ouichita SP -- very nice & large sites. Some are right on the lake too.
Daisy SP in Kirby -- nice too and there's a lake there.
Mount Ida -- go to a crystal mine and/or dig for your own crystals. Very informative if you're into that kind of thing.
Murfreesboro -- Crater of Diamonds -- also has a little museum in the front. Don't rent their equipment -- bring your own cheap bucket and hand trowel.
Also there's an Indian burial ground in Murfreesboro that's interesting. And don't miss eating at Buddy's Ranch House Cafe right off the main square downtown. Fabulous homemade food & PIES!!
One place just to sit back and relax and watch the barges on the Arkansas River is "Toad Suck" COE. It is in Conway a couple of miles from the 40 fwy.
We really enjoy it there. All back-ins, water, and electric and 50 amp. No sewer but they have a dump. Right on the river. Large sites. We had no problem with our 40' with 4 slides.
Have fun, Janet
