We are traveling from NH to FL on 84 to 81 and looking for a change from interstate travel. We were told to try 209 through the Delaware warer gap. Looking for any advice on this route
thanks in advance

I've gone that way before and it's a nice ride but sometimes slow, as it is a one lane in both directions and you can't pass very easily.

Been there and found the drive is very pretty and would be FANTASTIC in the autumn (probably too late for that this year). It isn't a high speed highway so if you're in a RUSH find another route but it's certainly worth the drive for the scenery. If you enjoy dry camping try the campground where there is a great access to the river for fishing or boating or just site-seeing purposes. No utilities of course and they DON'T allow generators though.
Good luck / skip

Nice area. Slow going, especially during weekend traffic. Do stop to see some of the many waterfalls in that area. Bushkill, Dingmans, Winona 5 falls, and our favorite...George Childs State Park (free). If you go up to Port Jervis and want a fun drive, Take NY 97 for some breathtaking views. Stop at Roeblings Aquaduct which goes over the Delaware River(same guy that built the Brooklyn Bridge)

Don't like the view?? Then change it and Go CampingOur pics

If the Flea Mgt. is open in Marshalls Creek, you will spend an hour getting throught there.

I just took that route this past Friday I had no problems at all not much trafic. but if you go route 33 that road is getting real bad but it is only about 30 miles to 78.

I will be going that way on the way home on Nov.21st

Hope this helps
George
