On our last camping trip I made tacos. They were delicious but the smell of the frying oil is still in the RV. What do you do to remove odors? I've cleaned everything well and even sprayed Fabreze on the carpets, upholstery, and lambrikens but the odor comes back. Maybe I should open up all the windows during the day and see if that helps. It's already getting cold here. Days in the upper 40's and nights in the low 30's. Help!

Bummer......I am suprised that the Fabreze had no effect. I would contact a professional cleaning service and ask them what they would use.

How about boiling some water with some cinnamon in it? Don't know if it will keep the smell away, but it's worth a try and won't cost much. They also sell candles for getting rid of smoker's smell. If the cinnamon doesn't work, the candle might work - it does get rid of cigarette smells.

You might clean the filter for the stove vent and clean any grease off the area around the stove.

I always clean everything top to bottom, even the bedding (blankets too if used) and Fabreeze like you did but I always air out the RV for a couple days weather permitting during the day. My Mom still thinks ours smells new so I guess I'm doing something right.
As far as frying stuff that's one of the reasons I drather do that outside and not in the camper. Course we rarely fry stuff anymore trying to stay healthy. Good Luck to you........

After cleanup, we burn a candle - that always has taken care of any smells so far in rv and at home, especially after bacon. That being said, we swith to ham instead of bacon when cooking in rv. Of course, any fish is done on grill.

I keep a Glade Plugin, plugged into an outlet in the kitchen of our 5er at all times. I keep extra refills on hand too. It runs off electric. Since the RV is only plugged into electric maybe 2 - 4 days out of a month, the Plugin last several months. If it's plugged in 24/7, it should last 30 days.
I try not to fry things up in the RV that might leave an odor, like bacon. I cook it at home in the George Foreman and freeze to bring camping with us. I always burn a Glade scented odor eliminator candle while I am cooking the bacon at the stick house to take care of the bacon smell. Although they are in a safe container, I never leave my candles unattended!
Try burning a Glade scented odor eliminator candle in your RV.
Glade Candles
Glade Pluggins
You could also leave a bowl of potpourri (or in a net bag) out to help eliminate odors.
Good luck.

Get a good electric skillet and cook that outside :-) Sorry, couldn't resist. That is the reason we cook almost everything outside, especially greasey stuff.
We do use the oven alot.
I think airing it out, even if it is cold outside will help the most.

Rent a ozone generator, run it for a couple of days, no odor.

So what basically everyone is saying is do what you do at home. RVs are not some strange, out of this world vehicle. They most certainly conform to what you would do at home. By the way, what do you do at home to get rid of odors?
