I wouldn't buy it instead of a Civic or Corolla or Focus, cause it's not in the same class as those cars, but I might buy it instead of Smart car or something of similar size.

They didn't have state mandated car seats and seat belts. That's how they did it.

We would never buy that ugly thing even if gas went to $10+ a gallon. Triple yuck!
Gotta admit tho that it would make a neatly wrinkled designer casket in the choice of color you purchased. So, think ahead!

So lets start our guessing how long it takes to get back into BK court
Five years tops is my wag.
I think my next car of that size (if that ever happens) will be electric.

Usual suspects with their ever present predictions of failure are out in full force this evening I see. Each time they have been proven wrong, but they keep tryin' just the same. Time will tell boys and girls, time will tell. You haters may get your wish, or you may, yet again, end up with egg on your face. I am waiting to read the 5 year plan before I make up my mind about the future. In any event, it will be interesting to say the least to watch it all unfold.

I am not a Chrysler hater. I've owned several AMC / Chrysler Jeeps and Chrysler / Dodge cars. That said, I think that the FIAT deal looks a lot like the RENAULT / AMC deal. Trouble is, the AMC Alliance looked a hell of a lot better than that little Italian toy. A frontal assault on the Kia / Suzuki / Scion market isn't going to succeed. The Italians don't know jack squat about the North American marketplace and don't have the first clue about what to do. They are no different than the French that came before them back in the 80s. They finally gave up and sold Jeep to Chrysler. What will happen this time ? Agree that it will be interesting to watch.
