I'm having a problem with inadeqaute cooling (45+) on my Dometic NDR1292 fridge setting 4. I disconnected the thermistor and the fridge/freezer gets real cold. Once the fridge got cold, an OHM check showed 8.9K OHMs at 35F. I measured the temperature right at the thermistor with a IR thermometer. The fridge temperature reading was taken with a typical fridge thermometer. Technical information from Dometic tells me the thermistor is probably good (should be 8-9K OHMs at 32F). But, I wonder why the fridge goes to full cold (35F) when I disconnect the thermistor P2 connector on the board? Could it be a circuit board or something? Or is 45F+ the best I can now hope for? It used to get colder than 45F+. Maybe 38F on setting 2. Now setting 4 only gets ~45F. Thanks.

I too once shot my fridge on a cool day on it's normal setting with my Raytek IR thermometer and started freaking out a little when It read 49 degrees inside. I then shot my Ice trays, which still had rock solid ice in them and it read 40 degrees.
I realized the Thermometer was reading incorrectly, and removing the battery for a while did not seem to reset it. I found that the best way to reset it was to point it at a clear cloudless sky, and it would read below it's minimum and display ---.
Then I hit the fridge and it reads 38.5 degs f.
If it is cloudy, it tells the cloud temps and does not seem to reset.
Now to check if it's working properly, I shoot the fridge.
This is a long shot, but I'll throw it out there. My still working but very old fridge would cool freezer great but fridge part not so much. Find out the door seal was stiff and not actually sealing the fridge section. Replaced the door seal and it works much better now.
