Amen! My family and I are about to move back to a dirt road. In the same area as the dirt road where I was born.

I was born and raised on a farm at the end of a dirt road. I can attest this is a true anomaly.

The dirt road I grew up on was red Georgia clay as were most of the now paved roads back then. We were learning to drive on icy roads and didn't know it.

After having lived on a paved road for a lot of years we bought a lot almost at the end of a dirt road off a county road. They really get full of washboard and post holes before the grader makes a pass on the county road part. Then it rains again and the same cycle begins.
Dusty after a few dry days. At least when it freezes the snow fills the post holes and the roads get smoother.

The condition of the road is not important. It is the character it developes in the human soul.
