Where does this "virus" come from? Is it just an evil identity trying to cause grief to the innocents, or is it just a feature of the electronic nature?

Obviously, I am not the smartest brick on the truck.

According to the advertisements, Windows 7 should prevent these and other problems.

Uh, huh ... and I've got this bridge for sale .....
BTW - I've used several removal tools and this is one of the best: MalwareBytes and it's free.
