Anybody know the big difference items between the 2 over the past several years.
Apart from towing Capacity and being heavier it seems the engine, transmissions, final drive are all the same options.

Is the difference in the frame only or am I making this too simple.

Some say it is one spring leaf and the sticker on the door but I would hope it is more than that.

As far as I know (I own a 3500, and previously owned a 2500), the differences between a 2500 and a 3500 SRW are:

- Rear overload spring pack and associated frame perches
- Higher rear GAWR
- Higher GVWR
- Door badges

That's it. The 3500 SRW has been out since the 2003 model year.

Nope. That's it. Spring pack and badges. Some 3500s have running lights on the roof.

Looking at 2010 Dodge Body Builders Guide the 2500 and 3500 SRW both have the same 6500 RAWR numbers now which makes sense as their the same AAM 11.5 axle.

Like others say my '03 2500 doesn't have the aux overload spring pack as the 3500 SRW truck. But it has the same tires/wheels/AAM 11.5 rear axle/frame/brake system/engine/tranny as the same year 3500 SRW. Cab lights are a option on a 2500 or the 3500 SRW. Fed reg require's cab lights on the 3500 DRW truck.

I wouldn't say all years model Rams have the same 2500 vs 3500 SRW differences but the 3rd gens which starts in '03 up to current models will be simular.
