Well, I finally had to pull the trigger and buy a new fridge for my 1992 Tioga C class. Quit working while boondocking about 6 months ago. Got it home, and Viola! it was working again! Brought it to a local tech and he said cooling unit was shot. Unfortunately, due to its age (17 years!) no replacement (he said) was availiable. Plus, due to its age it might be better just to get a new unit. Well, it worked off and on for a while but finally went kuput. After some research, Camping World ended up having the best deal. (I was surprised, as I have never had service done by them before) $1388 for a Dometic 5862 (i think!) Special was on install, half off, only $88. $15 to dispose of old one. Total was a smidge under $1700 with tax and everything. I guess a good deal, but Wow, wasn't really ready to do that big of a repair!!!!

Fridge is pretty much an ice chest with doors and shelves etc. plus a cooling unit plus everything else like logic board, gas burner/valve. If you truly KNOW that two of the three are OK then replacing a cooling unit or a board makes sense. Unfortunately we usually THINK most of it's OK and it often isn't.
I think your model might have been Dometic RM2652 (6 cubic foot) or 2852 (8 cft).

I just replaced the cooling unit in my Norcold and it was really pretty simple. Total for rebuilt and recharged unit was a smidg over $500. Way less than a new fridge. BTW, I was suprised at how simple these M/H units are. Just a box with attached parts.
