On my PUP the roller in the back wall of the camper is bad. So when I go to push the bed back in I have to lift slightly to get the little bit of bed droop to clear the back wall.

Well the kids would some times take the curved peice of metal out because well a 2 year old and one year old can do this. anyway if they did it then when I slid the bunk in the corner would drop down and hit the side of the dooe frame and not go into the opening it was supposed to thus would not close. Could be something as simple as this.
Hmmmmm this sounds odly familar on my old starcraft always needed 2 people to push in the front bunk

When it happened in my Starcraft, I noticed that the aluminum channel on the wood bunk end had slipped off of the wood. This made the bunk end too wide to fit in the tracks on the trailer. I worked the channel back onto the wood and added several 1/2 inch sheet metal screws through the channel and into the wood. I haven't any problems since then.

On my Jayco, there are pole brackets and Bungee loops mounted to the underside of the bunkend plywood. When I push the bunkends back in, they tend to snag on the camper wall. I have to lift up (about 1/8") in order to clear it. Try looking at the camper wall, and see if something underneath the bunkend wood is hitting.

Haven't had popups for years, but I did have similar problems several times with Dutchmen and with Jayco trailers.
Check the slide channels carefully for obstructions. Every time it happened to me, it was something in the slide - from loose screws to a broken nylon stop. Once, even a pecan that had somehow managed to fall from the tree we were parked under, slip past the canvas and lodge itself in the slide! Still haven't figured out how that happened.

Check the "back-saver" mechanism (where the poles are attached to the bed). We've had the lever that makes the mechanism work get bent a little too much and it was catching on the PUP box when we tried to push it in. Not easy to detect, as just a little too much bend is all it takes.

I find on the "king" bed end it is difficult to do this alone as if it does not go in perfectly straight it stops. Possible but definitely harder alone. However usually it is because something inside is causing a blockage.

I would remove the mattress, and pull it all the way out. I would then have someone else slowly push is back in while you watch the tracks every inch of the way. This may help you find what it is catching on.
Good Luck, that sucks!

You're probably smarter than me, but when this happened to me all I had to do was pull the beds back out, stow the DOOR on the ceiling, and push the bed back in!!
But I'll suggest it anyways, just in case you're NOT smarter than me!

Another possibility for a large bunk- the plywood bunk bottom is only 4' wide. On my pop-up, there is a 1/4" thick piece of plywood used to hold the splice on the 3/4" bunk bottom together. If I'm not careful, that 1/4" plywood will catch the back wall and stop the bunk from sliding in. A little lift up gets it over.
