The BH 3670RL has to much pin weight for a 2500HD. I know you don't like hearing that you need a 1 ton Truck but it would be the best decision if your going with a BH 3670RL. Good Luck with your decision. GBY....

Take a look at the Open Range 385 RLS. It has a very similar layout (although I like personally like the 3670RL bathroom layout better - the Open Range 345 RLS has the same bathroom but a different living room layout.)

Both are much lighter (both in pin weight and in dry weight) than the Big Horn (Open Ranges are made to be pulled with a 3/4 ton truck - at least 1500 lbs lighter due to different slide mechanisms) .... take a look at them - they are comparable in quality and features to the Big Horn.

Everyone here assumes that you are loading your trailer to its maximum...it seems that you have 4000 lbs. toplay with before you are a the max GVWR....none of these respondants suggest that you weigh the rig and TV before deciding if you are overloaded.

Saftey should be the most important item, the 2500 alone is not enough truck, plus the 4x4 reduces the tow amount.Get a 3500 series.

I can tell them from experience, even if they order NO options, the unit will weigh more than the brochure states. Ours came out of the factory with 2 A/C's and dual pane windows and weighed almost 13,000 lbs...DRY!!!

Unless they plan on putting nothing in it...common sense says they'll be very close or over on their weight ratings....JMHO.

The Arctic Fox 33-5v that we now have is suppose to weight 10,500 but just after we got it I took it and weighted it and it was 11500 with very little on it. Last summer I went to a rally where it was weighted again this time loaded, it weighted 12,920 with a pin weight of 2800. The Arctic Fox or Northwood shows 1800. It looks like I can get a fiver with around 14,000 gross weight. Now what do I get? I want a good quality RV that will be towed across county and be used for extended periods of time.

Either get more truck or less fiver. It is a no brainer Tom. I am one of the BTDT crowd and can tell you from experience that any more fiver than you already have will be too much for the truck.

Well the truck option is out. I like the truck and it did serve my needs. The DW is going to want a car soon. I just got so much money to spent!!lol The Heartland is out also. My next truck will be a one ton as when the wife gets a new car I am going to take her car. The new truck going to have to wait a couple of years. I need the government to give RVers a stimulus.

Heartland makes several other models in the Bighorn line that have GVWR in the 14,000lb range...they are slightly shorter and there are some really great floor plans too...

Just checked, there are five Bighorns that will fit your towing capabilities. check here
