I am posting to tell of our experiance recently at LD service dept. I called and made a appointment to have the Dometice frig. repaired, while we coming home from Key West. The response was very cordual and I felt good about going in. We arrived and was set up for a early appt.. The service advisor met us and took the information and arranged to get the mh driven to the service area. Later the serv. advisor paged us and told me our frig would need a total new cooling unit, and some new thermisters and the cost would be over $4300! He also said they had inspected several other areas and that our roof needed a total recaulking and that would cost $1050. He also said they would not accept Easy Care extended warranty and I would have to pay cash or credit card for the repairs. The mh is a 07 Holiday Rambler Imperial. I was totally floored by this and got the in-the-gut feeling we were being ripped off. I denied any repairs, and we left. Upon getting home I went up on the roof of the Mh to look at the caulking, what I found made me furious. The serv. tech has removed some caulking from around our shower skylight so that it will indeed leak. There were other evidence of intensional damage. I post this to only warn those who go to LD , please do not take their word , check out for yourself before you allow any repairs.

I think the OP is refering to Lazy Days in Seffner Florida. It is the only LD that I know of.
Hope the OP comes in and confirms or tells us who LD is.

Hire a mobile rv tech. He/she can do the work right at your house while you watch.

Time to learn a little about the business world:

1. Insurers, not the dealer, usually set the 'no customers in the service area' rule.

2. Yes, LD is indeed out for the $$$ -- what business isn't? That's the idea of being in business, isn't it?

Lazy Daze is defaulting on their loans, and are in fact into chapter 11 as we speak. Too bad they have chosen to go out as a bunch of bottom feeders instead of maintaining their dignity and reputation. But the founder Don Wallace family no longer has anything to do with the Company.

TAMPA BAY TIMES- Lazydays RV Supercenter made good on its plan to enter into bankruptcy this week, filing for Chapter 11 protection from creditors in Delaware on Thursday.

On a Web site created to discuss the bankruptcy, www.betterlazydays.com, Chief Executive Officer John Horton announced the company had filed a prepackaged Chapter 11 case with the support of its lenders and bondholders. The company expects to exit bankruptcy quickly and stay open throughout the process, he said in a statement.

Lazydays first revealed in September it planned to seek bankruptcy protection to restructure some of its debt. At that time, the company said it hoped filing bankruptcy would allow it to eliminate $137 million in debt and free it from having to pay more than $16 million in annual interest payments.

Lazydays has laid off 235 workers during the past two years and employs around 450 people. It was founded by Don Wallace and his family, but Wallace no longer has an ownership stake.

Reporter Michael Sasso can be reached at (813) 259-7865.
