Does anyone have a favorite latch to recommend?
Our cupboard doors have what is called the double barrel friction catch. They don't always work - sometimes doors fly open and stuff goes everywhere. Also I have scars on my arms from the part on the door gouging into my skin while reaching in to the cupboard.
I would really love to get something different.
Any suggestions?
Thanks...

I've always preferred cabinet doors that open upward instead of swinging horizontally. I've NEVER seen one accidentally lift up and open while traveling.

I found the corners of the cupboard doors were sharp in my RV. I gently used a metal fingernail file and rounded the pointed corners. Then use a rag & stain and seal with laquer if needed.
To prevent items from falling out of the cupboards, cut 1/8 veneer ply into 2 inch strips and place inside the cupboard. It will stay in place when fitted between the edges and frame of the cupboard - if not, use velcro. You can also put labels on the front of the veneer strips to identify the contents behind.

Our 5'er had latches like these...

The MH has these type...

So far, I like the style in MH better. Don't know if they are the "best" out there but seem to be doing a good job.
A friend has an older TT (mid 70's model) with latches that have push buttons on the handles. You push them in with thumb when opening cabinet. I like them but haven't seen them on anything newer.

We have ones called Double Roller Catch with Prong https://www.makariosrv.com/products/Double-Roller-Catch-with-Prong.html
They seem pretty cheap and simple but our cupboard doors never come opened unless we forget to close them completely.

X2 on these, we have replaced most of our doors latches with these. Never have a problem with the doors comming open.

What is the brand and where do you get them (hopefully some place other than CW)?

They came in the MH
Sorry, don't know brand, I just looked for a pic that looked like what MH has in it.
I found these pics by just googling "rv cabinet latches". I've seen them in most RV parts catalogs ("real" catalogs and online). PPL Motorhomes might also carry them.

Ah, I see that SouthCo makes them. Cool, I know where I can get them wholesale (about half the price).
