We was told that it a state law in Florida that you have to use a support for your sewer hose. Does anyone know if this is true or not?

Some campgrounds require them as dictated by County and City codes. To be on the safe side I would recommend one in Florida.

I live here and I have never heard of that. The CG's we have stayed at, not many people using them either. So it's either a rumor or it is not enforced, but in 20 years of living here, I have never heard of such a thing.

Lived and camped in FL for 40 plus years and only know of the seal (donut) requirement.

I started using one last year because of individual campground rules, now I wouldn't be without it. There are very inexpensive units available that collapse for easy storage.

BASSMAN50,

I don't think that it is a law. Some CG may require a support. Only thing I know of is the sewer connection has to be sealed. Donut or screw in connector. I have a PVC adapter I made to fit over the 4" sewer pipe and can screw my elbow into that.

Don't worry about it till you get there and ask what you need. Everything can be had that you would need.

Good luck and enjoy your winter.

I carried around a sewer hose support for 5 years and never needed it....I use a Sewer Solution. So I finally tossed it in a dumpster about 4 weeks ago. Guess what? Checked into the TT park in Las Vegas and they (the city) requires that all sewer hoses be supported.
Sewer Solution uses a 1" hose so I went to Lowes and bought a 1/2 dozen 1 1/4" conduit clamps and drilled a larger hole in the mount and inserted a large nail. Now the hose is off the ground about 8" and everybody's happy.

regardless of weather the park requires it or not I carry 2 pieces of the PVC rain gutter in my Sewer Hose compartment, and those 10" round bungy cords that have the the plastic ball to secure the hose in the gutter so when the serge goes through it, it stayes in the support bracket. it works great and stacks on top of each for travel with the hose resting inside it, the slinkey works ok also for a support and easier to transport.
