Ba Humbug!!!!!!
Christmas should be for children under 17 years of age.

No I do not participate.....I was in the Navy for 23 years and I got my fill of standing in lines and large crowds....I aggravate my wife when I go shopping with her as I am on a mission to get what is on the shopping list and not look at everything hanging on the sales racks......the quicker I get out of the stores the better.....
I think that is generally a man thing, till we get to the RV, or sporting goods section.

For 30 miserable years I was the guy in the retail bullpen. I looked forward to Black Friday like one looks forward to a colonoscopy.

We got up a little after 5 am (I worked till midnight and got to bed about 1:30 am). Went to the mall a little after 6 am and parked in a spot right next to the door. Wife went to CJ Banks for clothing, I went to Sears to buy a Samsung washer/dryer. The first sales person said they were sold out then tried to switch me to a higher priced set. Told her I wasn't interested. Grandson and I left, but wife insisted we go back and see if another store had them. Turns out they weren't out so we bought a set from a different salesperson! Sure hope they fit in our laundry room, they're about 6" deeper than what we now have and I don't want to knock out a wall or leave a door off.

At no time was it crowded, the worst shopping was at Penny's where we had to wait a couple minutes to get checked out. Hardly any crowds anywhere we went. Then we stopped at Shari's for breakfast and had to wait about 10 min for a table there. That was the most crowded place we went all day. Wife did go back to Fred Meyer's and there were no big crowds there either.

Well, the after purchase "service" by SEARS has been terrible, They missed the delivery "window" by almost 2 hours so no one was there to sign for the washer/dryer. Then they couldn't schedule for Tuesday because it was too late, then they couldn't schedule for Wednesday because it was too early!! Finally ended up scheduling for Friday, they are supposed to refund the delivery fee ($65 plus tax) plus give us a year extension on our warranties. Here's the kicker: Our local PUD offered a $50 rebate on the washer. Now Sears refuses to give us the paperwork to claim it saying that we can't have it because we got the W/D for less than cost. The PUD rebate has no connection with what we paid for the washer, it's a rebate because the new unit is much more efficient than the old one. Sears claims that because they put in the ad that no add'l markdowns will be taken they don't owe it to us. But what is supposed to happen is that the $50 is taken off the price, paperwork is signed by us and then Sears gets the $50 back from the PUD. The PUD will be getting hold of Sears to educate them about the rebate. I just wonder if Sears filed that paperwork and is planning on keeping the rebate rather than passing it on to the consumer. Guess we'll find out next week.

I made the mistake of going out on Black Friday to track down a reasonably priced HDMI cord. Finally gave up and bought one for $20 at FYE just to get the fark away from Lancaster Drive.....
