Replaced the main and transmission seals, along with the intake and valve cover gaskets. Getting ready for a 5 month, 5,000 mile trip through central Mexico

Put a few hundred hard miles on the old B roaming New York State. Two days in the Catskills camping and then north for another three days in the Adirondacks. The Catskills are harder as every hill is all the way to the top and then all the way back down. There were some serious steep downhills. The Adirondacks are higher but its a more gradual change in altitude and once your up there its smaller rolling changes in altitude. The 27 year old B pulling the canoe trailer made it with no problems. Of course the brake system and lines were replaced a couple years ago. Might take a few days to air out the campfire smell. Next major outing is a four day music festival next month in the Finger Lakes.

So. I got it yesterday and found out that the regulator is shot, no worries, I can get a new one and move on. So I hooked it up to city water today....broken toilet valve....so we are now looking for a replacement valve. Then I can figure out what else is going on. But, it's mine! Heres to the adventure.

Discovered the real value of a B with a generator. Used the RT as a cool living and sleeping spot during the 48 hour power outage. Could also watch the local tv station for news, make coffee, cook, etc. Glad we store our RT in the back of the house. Heat would have been unbearable otherwise.

Running through our checklist to make sure we have everything we will require on our first long distance trip. We leave next Saturday for 5 weeks in Newfoundland. It will be the first extended trip we have done since getting the van last year. This will be the test to see if we can live in the confined area for that length of time.

I hardly ever check this thread and now MarshaNichols asks a question. Scary.

Anyway, I used GraphXoff which worked great. Just put on a pair of rubber glove, put a coat of GraphXoff on with a natural brush and wait 15 minutes.

You will see the unwanted vinyl graphics crinkle, and then you use the soft scraper to remove it. I recommend wiping the scraper off with a paper towel as you work. There was zero damage to the finish. I just used a fine polish and wax and you would never know you were a mobile billboard.

I would post a link but I am responding via my phone.

Just google GraphXoff. Youtube has a demo video as well. I purchased online.

Good luck...................Rob

Back in April, I had my Air Conditioner recharged and had dye ran through it so the shop could trace leak(s). Last week, the dash AC quit cooling. I took it in so they could trace the dye and it turns out I need a new compresser and hoses etc. I am having everything replaced on Tuesday for $680. The van is over 20 years old. An investment but I got the Class B at a great price via an estate sale so this money being put in is not so big of a hit. Gotta have air condtioning while traveling.
