The block member function now works as it should. The workaround described below still works, but is no longer needed. The Block Member links found in private messages, profiles and the drop-down links to the left of posts work again.
The block member function, as most would use it, has not worked for a long time, but here is a way that will work.
You can block members' posts or private messages by adding their names to your Blocked Members list, which is accessed by a link on the right-center of your My Forums page. The downside to this way is that you will have to type (or cut and paste) the member's name you wish to block.
Open your My Forums page
Click on the Blocked Members link.
Clicking the link will open a the Blocked Members window.
Eneter the member's name, select which blocking functions you want to use, and click on the Add Member button.
Notes:
If you send a PM to a member and then block PMs from that member, he can still reply.
If someone quotes a post of a member for which you have blocked posts, you will see the quote.

Why would a person use the Block Members?
Its like closing your eyes and saying I cant see you anymore, or that foul that berries it head in the sand.
If a person gets that upset over anothers post or replies why are they even on this or any other forum.
I think it is a waist of space and a worthless funtion.

You are fortunate that you have never received an unsolicited nasty private message. Unfortunately, we have a very few members who have sent them.

Thats too bad.
How can a person that is logged on the this forum be unsolicited? everything usually leaves a foot print I would think.

Would you construe that my posts in this thread has invited you to send me a private message? I didn't say a "person" was unsolicited; I said that private messages can be unsolicited.
