Have any of you used any of the cleaner kits to renew your headlights? Our's on the B are cloudy and we'd like to know if anyone here has had luck with renewing their's.

Thanks robsouth, We had not thought about that and will surely check into it. Some of the DIY kits cost even more than that.

Depending on how bad the condition is I use rubbing compound/wax on mine. Works great.

Make sure the wax you put on has a high UV rating. this will last a couple years, before you need to re-buff.

I used a metal polish compound applied with a pad attached to a drill.
It cleaned up nicely and then I used some jewelers rouge which I got at Homey Depot. Made everything look sparkly. I think it needs doing again though.

I bought the McGuire's kit and polished the cloudy lights on my 1994 Dodge "B" and it worked very well. I've tried using plastic polish in the past, but that drill-mounted buff is the key to getting it done in a "sane" amount of time. I'd say go for it, it works.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Our local Walmart does headlight restoring so we'll let them do it. We have used three kits and no luck. Maybe we waited too long.

Ours (1996 RT) were really bad. We used one of the kits and it was an improvement, but not completely satisfactory. We had them done at the Dodge dealership (about $50) and they look like new.lizzie
