Just picked up my new Jayco 25RKS. I never had a brand new TT, and was looking it over and wondering if anyone actually locks the spare tire to help prevent theft? Mine is mounted underneath the trailer.

my dealer told me that it is commonly stolen item that they are often receiving replacement orders for.... I still need to get a lock and cable for mine.

How are you locking them to the trailer? Mine is mounted to the bumper.
Are there locks for the lugs? Should I get a cable and lock it to the bumper? I just got a new TT and it's not locked.

I've never had the tire or anything else stolen while it's sitting in the driveway or camping. However, when we were shopping for a new TT at the dealers, several of them had the spare tire, batteries, propane tanks, TV, even the bumper end caps removed so they didn't walk away.

Never had a locked spare on any of my trailers. Hard to imagine someone would need a trailer only tire that badly.

Our first TT didnt come with a spare(newbie mistake), and when we paid $159 for it, I put a lock on it. Current TT spare has that same lock on it now. Good Luck.

Here is what my TT came with.
I have a soft cover on mine and I don't think I would buy one if it did not come with one.

I have a cable/lock on the trailer spare tire and another cable/lock on my TV spare tire as well. I learned the hard way and had my spare (20" aluminum rim/tire) stolen from underneath my Ram 1500.
