As the title states, Mine has the AM/FM/Cassette combo unit installed. I would like to replace it with a new unit, one that has a DVD/CD player. Has anyone replaced their unit and if so, what did you use? I love to play some good music while relaxing by the fire, and also on the long extended trips the kids like to have a movie night..

I am not sure if it is a 12V radio or not, If so, I will probably end up making a custom enclosure where the stock radio is and install a nice Car audio/video unit..

I have some research to do...

All thoughts and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Mike

This is what I replaced the stock AM/FM/CD player in my rig with.

It's just your standard car stereo by JVC. It does have an AUX jack, so I use that most of the time for my iPod. It does have a remote and that's nice for the radio to turn off/on and not have to get out of bed!

I got the same unit for the truck too, except the one in the truck has built in HD radio.. HD radio is great when you are in range of the broadcasts... Where we go camping, there are not usually any HD radio stations anyway, so out comes the iPod.

I just use our portable DVD player and connect it to the flat screen for DVD movie watching. I think I only paid a little over $100 for the JVC in the trailer and $150 for the one in the truck (with the HD radio)..

I wired it into the wire harness from the original unit, but I did find they wired a speaker wrong, so I had to rewire that.. No big deal. Took longer to trouble shoot the problem than it was to fix it!

Did the same as Mitch150 in using a separate DVD player since I found a decent car stereo, with remote, cheap. It would seem you could do what you want provided you purchased a car entertainment system that supported DVD with a video output that could connect with your TV.

My Concertone replacement.
