I installed the 5th Airborne pin -box a few weeks back and am getting ready for my first trip.Question is how much air are most of you starting out with?I put 40lbs in and it settles on the Fill line indicated on shock.Rig is in signature below.Im usually around 13k overall and 2k-2.5 pin weight..not exact just for sake of an average? It indicates you may want to play with the pressures?Just looking for a good starting point thanks.I will be traveling 1500 miles(one way) in the next week or so..I imagine I will have it dialed in great at end of trip?

The fifth airborne operates on static ride height, not air pressure. You adjust the air pressure until you see the line on the shock. That's it. It doesn't matter what anybody else runs for pressure.

I fill mine to the line. Never check pressure. Has always done fine.

I have read in other locations that 30psi is recommended but I have found the trailer rides better if I fill it just to that little line taped to the shock tube.

I just (yesterday) picked up the new rig with one, they filled it to the line, and paid no attention to the PSI

When someone tells you to buy the same rig they own, listen, they might be right. When they tell you to buy a different rig then they own, really pay attention, they probably know something you don't.

Ok then its all ready for trip.I guess what I see now is if I dont like the ride I adjust the air-spring position(per instructions). Is everyone happy with theirs..I changed to this set-up to try and take some of the abuse off the trailer.

The manual adjustment is to compensate for heavier trailers to get on that line without exceeding the 120 psi max on the airbag.

I think if you are on the line, that is as good as it gets. Anything over or under degrades the effectiveness of the pinbox.

I usually fill it to around 95PSI prior to hookup. Once I'm totally set up, I then let out the air until it hits the sweet spot.

Eh!
