We were down to AF and Sunnybrook and got the SB only because of the floorplan. AF, SB and Carriage will be on our short list, when we go bigger. Jayco and Hitch Hiker are supposed to be high quality but the fit and finish of the new ones I've looked at were absolutely disgraceful. I'd look again tho in case they got better. I don't know what you have in mind but our next one should be the last, so I will be looking for superior insulation, dual pane and at least the overall quality of our SB. Craig

Thanks!
We basically just finished a similar search. We used to have a 1999 Nash 24-5N.
Besides AF we looked at NuWa Hitchhiker II-LS, Crossroads Cruiser and a few others (not as seriously). One of our big drivers was quality, but certainly not glitz, a bed room we could stand up in and length of not much over 30 ft (shorted would have been better).
SWMBO liked the 29-5E best, I liked the AF 27-5L and HH II-LS 26.5 better. They were both shorter (in both length and height). She didn't like the bedroom of the AF and the kitchen of the HH.
There are quality rigs out there, but most of them add glitz to solid quality.
2008 F350SD V10 with an 2012 Arctic Fox 29-5E When someone tells you to buy the same rig they own, listen, they might be right. When they tell you to buy a different rig then they own, really pay attention, they probably know something you don't.
n7bsn,
as a former owner of our floorplan you probably get where we are coming from. My biggest complaint is the bedroom. I would like to have some space and height. It would also be nice to have a sofabed (not a jacknife) for occasional extra guests. Mostly it is just Hubs and me. I'm also entertaining the idea of rear living. I think I would like the windows.
So do not care for glitz. Solid and quality are our goals. Also probably will buy gently used. We are extremely handy. We redid our 24 5N ourselves, to our taste.
Really like the 29ft Fox with rear living. A little concerned about the pin weight. Hubs has not run the numbers yet, as we just started thinking of upgrading.
Thanks everyone for your help.

Not really sure why you are concerned about the pin weight of the 295T. We have a GMC 2500 and have run the numbers and the pin weight would be fine. You have a 3500 - I would think there would be no problem. ???
The AF 295T is my dream 5ver. I don't see it happening, but one can always dream.
We hunted for several months with QUALITY and GOOD USE OF SPACE as our criteria. We chose the Arctic Fox 27-5L. (But the Arctic fox 29-5 is also nice.) We have used it for 3 years and it works well for us. Very nice.

As we have a AF29-5T although I have not weighed it the 5er pin weight should be no more than 2400lbs if that much. I use 2160 as the pin weight for calculations. Your truck should be fine.

No washer, dryer hookups in our 29-5T, but I'll forgo that for the rest of the rig. We've owned several brands, but from now on it'll be AF. Our new 29-5 T is probably the last one we'll buy. We tried others for the floor plans, but were quickly dissapointed with the build.

Used to be a couple of them did, but today I think only the 36 ft models do.
