I am the proud new owner of a beautiful set of Firestone Destination at 305-70-16 E. I went to a local shop and was looking at another set when he showed me these, they were ordered by a guy last month and he never picked them up so I got a killer deal. Not the size I was looking for but with a 3500 lb load rating I am a happy camper now although my wallet is much lighter...I checked them out on consumers and they were #2 out of 15 in their reviews. Anyone else run these?

Also I was running 65 psi on the blow out tire, and after inspection I believe there was a defect in the tire that had been going on for a while. I had a hard time getting them to balance but I thought it was the wheel...

Never a good thing to hear. I am running the same tires in 305s E load range though. What PSI were you running?

Yes, psi is very important!

Regardless of load range, if you don't pump up to the proper psi, it won't help. For example, put 35 psi in a load E tire, and you've just dialed it back to a P-rated tire. Put 65 psi in there and it's no different than a D tire.

In some heavy Newell coaches, 140psi is recommended on the front axle! (with load L tires to match)

BTW folks, a modern tire's "ply" is simply a rating. A 20ply L tire would only have 3 or 4 plys in its construction.
