I'm curious if I'm missing something here. I use USAA for all my vehicle insurance - to include the trailers. I'm not covering the trailers like a house, but instead as part of the car, and contents are covered under homeowners vs the auto policy.

Or so they tell me. Am I being silly to accept that?

Just make sure the company understands the unique coverages needed for RV's/motorhomes and does not compare the coverage to a car.

Farm Bureau for the house - wish more did farms so we could change that
State Farm for the Truck, Car and RV - lowest the last time we checked on prices about 2 yrs ago for the truck and car and just added the RV about a month or so ago
We have Progressive for the bike - most other's farm it out to Progressive anyway as they can't touch the price (so they tell us everytime we ask) besides when a deer decided to run a stop sign and did $6k of damage to the bike they were right there and took it wherever we wanted to with no problems and paid out even for replacing the leather jacket, gloves and boots that got tore up without batting an eye and even made sure to ask what he was wearing so they could include it. If the insurance went up it did not go up much when it came to renew.

Most of these comments are worthless to the OP. Rates and classes can vary from state to state so only anyone living in his state can give a good comparison. Companies even insure different items in different states. For the OP, just keep calling.

BUT!! at what value of a Class A motor home and how much liability coverage and thats only for part time only use
Now take a newer 40 Ft DP M/H with say a 200K value and put adaquete liabilty on it at 1 million and then insure it for 12 months of the year and I bet you it will be at 2K per year or more
