This is just a suggestion. Check the underside of the coach to look for ANY rust as if the coach was under some water at some time. If you live in or around Texas, run from this coach as fast as you can. I was looking at a motorhome in Texas and was ready to make the deal until a friend looked at the coach and informed me that the underside was covered with rust, could have been caused by Katrina. Agree with most posters here. While it may be "fixable" with what sounds like a good bit of effort, one would ask, why? When the market is saturated at an almost pick your price/pick your unit, why not continue your search to find a MH without issues? Bear in mind you are buying an already depreciating/depreciated asset. Unlike fixer-upper homes that can increase in value, you will not find that scenario in a MH. MH's are investments in recreation not finance, why further exacerbate the problem? And things like this would keep me awake at night. "What else is wrong I haven't found?" MH's are for fun and travel unless endless projects are your thing. My advice, pass over it and wait for the right deal. You'll know it when you find it and in this market it shouldn't take long. I like a good deal as much as the next guy, but when I lay my money down I expect a good product in return. Surprises are expensive in both money and time. Neither of which I have an excess of.

said it all up to this point, WHY? My same philosophy as on other attributes or mis-attributes, of RV construction. don't buy a problem.

lift up the carpet in the corners to see if there is any mildew, We had one that we had to rip up the carpet, when we did there was mildew on the floor. WE bleached it then sealed it with kilz and put vinyl down. Also they could of had a water leak and didn't really get the carpets dry before they closed it up. Find the source then make a disision. Good Luck

A BIG Thanks to everyone's input. We gave it serious thought and decided to "RUN Forest RUN after reading all the posts. So heading on vacation "via truck" to hit the RV dealers in the Texas area. We're looking for a 38 ft 2000-2002 diesel pusher with around 40-50,000 miles. We like the Holiday Rambler. If anyone knows of one we would appreciate a heads up. Thanks again. Drive safe.
