What ever you buy just remember the 1000 mile break in rule for towing.
Guess you should also change the name of your truck, from "beast" to beauty
Hope you get to explore the Black hill in a new TV.

My thoughts as well however, the Ford 6.7L manual states a 500 mile break-in before towing. Just a FYI.

Find a Chevy or GMC. Don't give your money to Ford after that fiasco.

Man, sorry to hear about your luck Hawk. That just sucks.
And people want to know why I get so pissed when I hear comments like: "Ford fixed the 05 on up 6.0 Powerstrokes." Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Anyway about a new truck.
GM has a great truck and has come out on top in almost every test.
Dodge is a great truck that is just slightly down on power. But then again does anybody really need 800 Ft/lbs?
Ford's new 6.7 has had almost no common problems and looks like a great engine. Looks like Ford got it right. Ford makes a great truck and now it looks like they have an engine to go with it. If you like Ford's and diesels get one. The new 6.7 is NOTHING like the 6.0 or 6.4.
All three make a great trucks and drivetrains now and that's a good thing.

I am sure that you paid every penny for that extended warranty. Use it up until it is gone.

I don't think he would be "giving" Ford money, but more likely paying for a truck. Why didn't you mention Ram? A little too brand loyal are we?

The above poster (4*phun*2) used to commonly defend the 6.0L psd, you can check his signature and see he used to own one. I am puzzled by this sudden change of loyalties.

I had a 05 f350 6.0 but after the blowing out the side of the inter cooler going to Myrtle beach, I got Dw to let me trade it in after ford fixed it at no charge. Sure it cost me money to trade but after towing with the 6.7 you won't regret the trade up. It just so much more civilized.

The Ford 7.3L had the same 500 mi before towing limit so it's unfortunate some folks who don't know the facts choose to post bad/bum information.

Not to get off topic but, we all know about the initial "break in" routine, no towing first 500 miles, easy of the go pedal, no cruise control use, etc... But I always wondered about those drivetrains under motorhomes, upfitted vehicles(heavily loaded). They don't get a gentle break in before being loaded to near GVWR(class C motorhomes). Hmmm, don't recall any issues. Just curious.
