I have had dish network for years and use crank up dish along with portable dish to pick up multiple sats. I recently purchased a cheap satellite locator/meter {$20.00 on sale at Ace hardware) I aimed the crank dish within seconds,I noticed the the meter picked up the signal immidiately where the receiver has a long delay making aiming way easier. Now for the fun part,In reading the meter instructions it states that it is powered by the receiver input so I measured the voltage from the receiver, 18volts(it does vary depending transponder setting) so I took two 9 volt batteries, wired them in series taped them together and hooked them to a short piece of cable which connects to the receiver side of the meter connect other side of meter to dish and aiming is fun quick and easy and DW is not unhappy about beeb beeb beeb beeb.................

Clever. Next a trip to the store for a couple 9 volt batteries and back to my scrap pile for a coax cable donor.

I gotta get me one! Helping dozens of guests each summer aim through trees is a challenge. Transponder 11 is imho the most dependable for Dish.
Not so familiar with direct . Any ideas for that?

Just bought one on Ebay, $4.49. Batteries on my Digisat Sat finder went dead years ago. This will work perfect. Thanks for the post.
