Last year at this time we were "wildly" suprised. Our 14 grand daughter wanted to go camping with us at the lake rather than stay in tulsa. Zoom to this year, Soon to be 15 yo grand daughter wants to camp again for her birthday. Yay for us, something is being done right. Now we just have to hope her mother gets off of bedrest before that weekend. Sad and happy at the same time. Making the girl homemade beef jerky this weekend just in case.

Our daughter loved the camping thing until about age 12. Since that time she has never been camping again and she's 35 now. Found her own interests I suppose.

I wish the same for our grandkids - went camping with us often between the ages of 7 and 11, then they turned into teens and the camping went out the window! Would like to have them along!

Our granddaughters are 11 and 13, and 16, and the two youngest show no signs of giving up camping with us, but the 16 year old quit at about 12!

Just a difference in personalities I suppose.

My 16 yr old GS graduates from high school in 2 yr. His mother called me (my DS and she are divorced now) to tell me he wants me to take him to Yellowstone for a graduation present!!! I was thrilled to say the least. I will take my 5er and we will go enjoy our journey to yellowstone...just he and I and the dog!! Can't wait!!

As soon as our granddaughter's started dating and found part time jobs, they lost interest in camping. Add college, and they don't have time to camp in any case.

We are extremely blessed. We have 7 grand children, ages 17 to 7, and they all love to go camping with us. The 17 year old grand daughter is worried that next summer she may not get to go camping with us because she hopes to have a job before going to college in the Fall. They all say they love going camping with us; the amazing thing is, we love for them to go with us. We always have a great time. Hopefully, we are making great memories for them. I am thankful for our family's closeness.

We have nine grandkids, ranging in age from 1 to 22. There's a cluster of five, now ages 12-14, that we call "the middles." We used to take them camping (all at the same time) when they were a couple of years younger - it's why our first TT was a bunkhouse model. Now, they are all too busy with Scouts, sports, music, whatever. Haven't taken any of them in a while.
