I expected the built in speakers to sound like total crap. They actually aren't bad at all and have excellent volume. I'm impressed so far. I'll hook it up in the 5er this weekend and see exactly how many amps it draws through the inverter. BTW this is also a LED LCD.

Inverter?!!! Ewwwwwwwwww.
J/K.

My inverter kills my weaker TV stations, I rarely use it for anything, last thing was a soldering iron. It loved the MSW

I am so tempted to take this new TV apart. It sounds like the screws for the speakers were just not tightened enough in China.

I assume it will draw the 18 watts when the DVD player is running, but so far there is little difference with increasing screen brightness and volume. 0.1 amps more at full volume and brightness.

TV came in!!!!! And guess what? It only draws 22.5W! This TV this will be replacing one that draws 73W.

Awesome!

A savings of about 4 A/hr. About 25A for a good double header! So no more excuses for shutting the TV off while the Giants are wipin' the floor with the Dodgers... or the Angels, eh?

I have a pretty nice 300W PSW inverter. No RFI or other such nonsense.

Did Salvo Photoshop himself on top of those rocks?

I can't believe how little power draw this thing has. This is a 26" TV you know. The specs say 33W and I think it hit that when I turned it on but dropped quickly. Can't wait to get this hooked up in the 5er.

Mena,

About how much does your new LED TV draw along with a DVD player for watching movies?

I recently checked my widescreen laptop (with built-in DVD/Blu-Ray player) with only one of it's Intel cores turned on and it draws about 36 watts total in our RV when playing a regular definition DVD. When I turn on both cores of the laptop for high definition Blu-Ray movies in the RV the laptop draws about 72 watts total.

(I'll have to check our 26" Samsung LED TV in the RV to see what it draws when it displays TV shows. I'm also curious as to what total regular definition DVD draw would be when playing DVDs from the laptop's DVD drive but with the laptop's screen turned off and displaying on the 26 inch LED Samsung.)

I should be able to get that info for you by tomorrow at the latest. The 22.5W was watching a standard def TV show from the sat box (sat box draw not included). We use a Bluray player for watching movies and it draws 25W while watching a movie and the sat box draws 14.3W while playing a TV show.

I had a strong feeling that a dedicated BD device would make a more efficient player than a big microprocessor attempting the same job.

Your BD player's 25W is probably just a whisker over what a comparable SD DVD player would consume.

That's pretty cool, I thought it would be more considering there's more processing in BD players. Good stuff.

Ok, this time I noted the startup watts (36.7). Quickly dropped back down to 22.5W. Bluray player already connected (via HDMI) and powered on, inserted movie. Skipped through previews. Had to pause it to answer phone draw went up to 29W. Got to movie and let it run for a few minutes. Amazingly power DROPPED to 20.3!! I let the movie run for a few more minutes and power remained at 20.3. That's freakin awesome!
