Ours had similar behavior and getting a new set of batteries solved it. Turned out our connections were not ideal and one of the two batteries was dead. No problems since the new batteries.

Had a similar problem several years back with a different brand furnace. After 5 repair shop visits I was given no solution except removing the outside cover and pressing the reset button. I am not a mechanic, but started searching for any problem and found that the duct lines that carried the air to the bathroom and bedrooms were not connected at the furnace. I connected the two lines and problem solved. Apparently the extra hot air blowing in the furnace compartment was causing a hight limit control to trip, thus the reset fix.

We had a similar problem. Would start up the first time, usually, but then all subsequent calls from the thermostat you would hear the whoosh of gas and a few clicks and then nothing - it would go to fault mode. We'd have to turn the thermostat off to reset it. My DH didn't get a lot of sleep at the beginning always futzing with that thing.
We changed the circuit board - didn't help. I think it was the second person who looked at it who noticed that the ceramic shroud on the ignitor had a hairline crack, so the spark wasn't really going where it should have been. He replaced it and we've had no problems since!

Ignitor would warm up, crack would open up a bit causing a "misfire" ???
Interesting.....

Does the unit have to be removed from the rv to get to the ignitor?

Hmmm...you know, I'm not certain. For some reason, I assume no. It just didn't seem like that invasive of a job. That said, I wasn't there when he did the work and that was at least 18 months ago at this point, so I don't remember the details very clearly.
