Currently, we camp in a pop-up (tent trailer) without on board toilet/shower facilities and I'm considering purchasing one of the portable shower/toilet outdoor enclosures. We already have the cassette toilet that came with the pop-up but we've never used. It will typically be used only for late night/early morning toilet needs.

We typically camp in state and COE parks with fairly private and large wooded sites. Are there any issues about putting this up on our site that I need to consider? Anybody use one? Any recommendations about brands or styles?

I have shower inside pup now, but in past, used the Zodi system. They're somewhat pricey. Shower tent is about $100, shower kit about $150 plus you may want canopy over the shower tent. I would consider the Paha Que shower tent with the optional floor water capture instead of the Zodi tent (but use Zodi shower). You hook a garden hose to the water capture floor to drain.
They work well and take very little work to set up.
No issues other than a bit 'weird' to be taking a shower outdoors, even in a tent. But, we dry camp most of the time and after hiking all day, need that shower. You'll get used to it.
Additional --- if you're doing cooler camping, you may also want a small tent heater.

Do some searching on Paha Que and Zodi and you'll see the options available to you. Of course, you can go less expensive and use one of the solar models, but of course, you're dependent on the sun.

Disposing of the gray water will be your big problem. Many state parks prohibit draining it on the ground. I don't know about COE parks. In general the practice is prohibited.

Guess I should have been more specific. I'm really looking for replies and experience regarding the use of the enclosure itself.

Worth it, not worth the hassle, any neighbor complaints. Pop up vs the ones with tent poles, etc - that kind of info. Bass Pro Shops has one we're looking at but a google search reveals other companies make them as well and prices range from 50.00 to 100.00+. Reviews tend to be good, but would really like to hear from experienced campers/RV'ers here who may have used them.

We love our popup and have always used the campground bathhouse facilities, however this seemed like a reasonable alternative to those late night/early morning treks to the bathhouse if they are as advertised. We will use it only with a cassette toilet (that came with the popup but we've never used) and not for showering, so mainly as a privacy shelter. We will dump according to the campground rules.

Thanks for the replies and taking time to share.

We have used this shelter for a solar shower, and I think it would work well for a toilet.

fold-a-privy

It is easy to put up and take down, kind of like a pop-up tent. But it does need to be anchored or tied off.

But I do have to wonder.... why don't you use the cassette toilet in the pop-up?

We don't use the cassette toilet in the popup because, I guess the answer is "modesty" - don't really want to be going to the bathroom in the kitchen

we've bought the Bass Pro Shops version and so far it seems to be sufficient for what we want. Our trip is next week so we'll report back whether it's a 50.00 mistake or not.

Hi - we have an outside shower enclosure - came from Wallyworld - have set it up at USFS CG that didn't have showers (when we didn't want to use the inside shower set-up in our van). Worked out very well for us - never got any questions from anyone - not even the hosts. Tent campers need to scatter dishwater at the sites, so "runoff" from a shower shouldn't have an impact. ST

I opted for a heavier one, with poles. Reason: wind and storms. You get one with the ability to tie down. I don't know what kind of stakes come with the different brands. Get good tent stakes, something to pound them in with and to pull them out with.
