I hope this is in the right section for the forum, if not please let me know.
Those w/ Travel Resorts Memberships have you gone to get your picture taken yet? Of course it's not just about a new photo ID, oh no, they want more money. And if you don't give it to them your membership will be obsolete b/c you will only be able to book out 60 days from your trip while those who buy into the new membership will be able to book out 90 days. Way to hold your members over a barrel TRA.
We've been pleased so far w/ the membership (even though getting a campsite on weekends has been tough) but this is ridiculous. They said 80% of the members are going w/ this new plan. I wonder what the real numbers are? Any one know?
I know, I know, buyer beware, our fault for trusting a business to be honorable and not pull the rug out from underneath our feet

Hi...My wife and I got our pictures taken. They attempted to sell us the "new" membership which we declined..not so politely! It was a mistake to join in the first place..but other than the maintenance dues they won't get another penny from me. You sound as disgusted with them as I am! Good Luck with them. And Happy Camping!

This is a scam run by all the membership resort clubs at some time or another. I can't speak for TR but I have been through this with Western Horizon, Thousand Trails, and Sunrise resorts. The funny thing is they all hire the same company to do the presentations. This company rolls into an area and gives their high pressure pitch then moves on. A few years ago we had invitations for the pictures from Sunrise and an upgrade pitch from Thousand Trails on the same weekend from the same people.

No I haven't talked to anyone at the resort itself. Probably best that I don't!

I did leave a post on their Facebook page. I wonder how long they'll leave it up there?

We haven't gone yet and when we talked with the girl who sold us our membership, sh etold us not to worry about getting the photo id anytime soon. She actually told us that they would be reviewing our plan and offering us a different one. She said that the resort would not be requiring the new id anytime soon. We took her at her word as so far she has taken really good care of us (other than talking us into our new expense). She gets us sites if we don't want to book using the online search engine and she always looks after us if we need anything while we are there. We are at the Sycamore Lodge in NC, never been to the one in gettysburg yet. Oh and they will not get us to upgrade our membership.

Anaro~ I hope she's able to get you sites still. We use Gettysburg since we're from PA, but we did go to NC for Thanksgiving one year. Nice park, but we're so frustrated at this. How long ago did you buy your membership?

We bought it in Jan. We have had no problem getting sites either online or going through red. We can't always get the site we want but we have 2 trips there this month, both on great fhu sites on the loop (near pond and waterfall). I have heard others say they have problems but we have had good.luck. the holiday weekends are insane and biomedical up quickly. Technically the membership is supposed to guarantee a spot every weekend except holiday weekends. It might be an electric only site but it is still a guaranteed site. For the record we have never ended up in water only site and have only not been in fhu twice.

They cannot change a binding contract, including our 90 day reservations, unless we default on our dues or agree to the upgrade....sales people will say anything.
