will be heading down to florida around the middle of december and want to stop in charleston sc to see the christmas lights. where is a good place to stay a couple days with easy driving into the city?

James Island is nice, not our favorite Charleston stop. We prefer Oak Plantation. You can find reviews here

We like Oak Plantation as well.

Another vote for Oak Plantation. IMO, a little easier to get to than James Island.
