Before you bother with ANYTHING, put on trac bar, front and back if available for your year. Then, start fixing things if needed after that.

I don't get putting a track bar on a leaf spring suspension. Unlike a coil spring suspension where the track bar keeps the axle centered and from moving side to side on a leaf spring suspension the springs hold the axle from moving side to side..... I can't see spending money on something that's not needed, I know a lot of guys swear by these things. Anyone explain it to me ?

Unfortunately there is no second holes on the front sway bar, 1997 down F53...

I installed Firestone Ride Rite air bags w/compressor on both front and back on my 1997 F53 and it improved handling tremendously also a a much smoother ride , exiting Interstate is not a scary experience anymore ! a lot more stable in side wind or when a semi overtakes me; when I installed the kit in the rear, I also noticed sway bar bushings were shot so I replaced them as well with urethane ones.

The sweet spot for my mh is 35 lbs in the front and 65 rear.

One other benefit of these bags is there is a slight leveling capacity and i can deflate the rears and inflate the fronts so the mh leans back, helps when dumping tanks

If the shocks have never been replaced, I would change them. I have a 97 and replaced the shocks and it is night and day! The shocks I took off were shot. Does you rv have airbags in the front springs?

I would say shocks and airbags. I couldn't imagine mine without the airbags.

I had replace the original shocks with Bilstein last year, it did improve cornering a bit but the ride was a little harsher, the air bags improved all those points altough it is a more expensive option, especially with the compressor and inside switches and gauges...but i like it !

It's all in the size of the box. You have a giant box only held on by leaf springs. There is bound to be side to side movement. Ford knows it, they put a trac bar on the front of my 06. Why they didn't put one on the rear is beyond me.
