I had a great job. Working for a company that I liked and took care of their employees. When the company (ARCO) was sold (to bp) we went from a 28 billion dollar company (cash price) to a 280 billion dollar company. About two year later bp said anyone 50 or older could take early retirement. That was when my new supervisor in the Saftety Dept. told me "that if I couldn't lie for the company I should look at early retirement". My hand shot up so fast my shoulder still hurts and that will be ten years in April 2012. Of course that was before the Texas City refinery, the Gulf oil spill and platform explosion and probably countless other incidents. Funny sometimes just how things work out.
