I am hoping to visit Gettysburg this summer. Any advice on campgrounds in the area would be helpful. I will be traveling in a 28 foot Keystone with one slideout. Thank you

We just spent 2 weeks at Drummer Boy; a large, well-run CG with lots of activities for kids including a water slide (not this time of year, obviously).

We stayed at a very nice KOA just west of town.

Our choice is Gettysburg Campground. Nice place, VERY nice folks that run it. Clean & quiet. Those are our main criteria.

We stayed at Artillery Ridge because it is Passport America so 50% off. Not the fanciest cg but just fine and had a lot of roads for us to walk the dog. I would certainly stay there again. It's advertised as the closest park to the hg.

We stayed at Drummer Boy 2 years ago. I wouldn't stay there again. It's mostly inhabited by full time residents and the transients get the noisey sites closer to the highway. I've heard good reviews for Gettysburg Campground.

Drummer Boy USED to be the premier campground there but new owners took over and it doesn't get great reviews. We like Artillery Ridge. It's a little more "rustic" than some of the others but you can take a horseback tour through the battlefields (which I highly recommend) right from the campground-just don't be late or they will come looking for your! They also have a battlefield diorama on property which is very interesting. The campground is very clean and the staff helpful and friendly.

We like Granite Hill they have always been very helpful and run a very nice campground, the manager Chris runs a tight ship he likes to follow the rules for everyones saftey. We stayed there twice last summer and had a great time.
There is alot of construction in the area, maybe it will be done by next year.
