I have perused your blog and really appreciate your alliterative prose. I especially enjoyed the section on Burning Man. I wondered if part of the reason for your dream trip revolved around making it to Black Rock City, or if it was just incidental to your travels.
There have been a couple of times in my adult life where I have had the luxury of traveling for a month or more at a time, and although I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience, it is always good to have a place to call home.
Thanks for the time and effort you put into recording your journey, and especially for sharing it with us.
Great trip report. I read it all in two days a little here and a little there. It made me feel like I was right there with you. Great job well written the best I have read thanks again for sharing it with us.

I don't understand why there are almost no trip reports in the other forums. Surely those folks take trips and can write a short synopsis about it.

Thanks for posting this trip blog! I've gotten to browse through, stopping to read the section on Burning Man in its entirety. I really had no idea what that shindig was about til now. And the links to the events' pics were pretty cool as well.

Yes, the timing of Burning Man had a lot to do with the pace of my trip. Usually I don't make reservations along the way, but I felt I needed to if I wanted to arrive at Black Rock City at the right time. I've been interested in going to Burning Man for several years and this was my opportunity.
