Got my first set this year. Can't stand them. I have to turn my whole head to get what I want to see into the "sweet-spot". Not to mention that most of the closer work that I do is not in the focal distance of the lenses. I wind up scooting them down and looking over the top. Since they are the poly carb safety lenses and titanium frames I supposed that I will have to make do 'til I can work off the cost, then get some upgraded (for distance) single vision lenses. This fall I found out that it's very difficult to look through a rifle scope or the peep on my bow when hunting.

HI I just got progressives and I adjusted well to mine. My Dr said when on steps and stairs look down with your head not just your eyes ....kinda hard to do when your use to just looking with your eyes but it helped me adjust. Good Luck.

wnyPat, have you been checked for cataracts? That's usually the culprit when seeing doubles or halos at night.

I'm with talonhead, had them for two days, couldn't read a letter sized sheet much less a blueprint without constantly turning my head. I require +2 and -2 prisim and they couldn't do that. When I drove. I had to turn my head to see clearly, that ment moving my eyes off the road.

All I have are polycarb. lenses, no extra cost, even my polaroids are poly lenses. Some jerk that was supposed to help me pick out my glasses tried to tell me I needed those little narrow almost reading glasses sized frames and lenses, for work framing, "they're safety lenes he says and with the progressive bifocals everything is in focus all the time". What a line, withe the progressive part of the lens taking up 80% of the lens and the little narrow lenses only covering about half my eyes, there was no safety at all. I think he is either selling insurance or selling on a used car onlt lot.

Progressive lenses are only good if you need them to see but they will take time to get used to. Savings can be found at http://www.zennioptical.com. My wife ordered a single vision from "big box membership store". For the same price of $150 I ordered 2 pairs of bifocals and 2 single vision readers and it only took 2 weeks to get them.

I just got mine last week and I hate them. I thik they got my prescription wrong. When I look straight ahead everything is still just as blured, just bigger. Taking them back this week.
