I stop at Sam's Club whenever possible. Usually 5 cents less than others. Pay with a Visa that gives 3% rebate on gas purchases. Also we live near the border with another state where gas is 20 cents less a gallon. A short drive across the river saves big.

Pilot/Flying J frequent fueler card. The deals aren't great but every little bit counts and I would likely be there anyway. I also start looking for fuel at the 1/2 full mark. This gives us leeway in finding a cheaper price, easier access, state line coming up, etc.

Flying J has always been RV friendly. Hopefully this slowly leaks over into the Pilots as well. I like to think my little bit helps encourages the policy to spread.

And yes, driving slower definitely helps. Still working on that one.

Use Sunoco card for 5 cents off and stop at Sam's Club when convenient.

I don't like giving my credit/bank information to any of these "discount cards" either. It's nothing more than the new cheap way to get marketing info. Give you a couple of cents or gas or 2 cents off a can a peas is chump change to them to get your personal info for marketing.
Just curious what "discount cards" you are referring to? My my local grocery store didn't ask for any more than an address and phone #. They do track what peas and beer I buy from them though. I'm being profiled by the big bad grocery chain

Exactly......
We travel FT so we shop at different/various grocery stores. When they ask....."Do you have our card".....Nope but would like the discount price...."No problem sir" clerk then grabs a new card, swipes it, hands it to us along with registration card.....which we throw in trash on way out of store. No info given and funny thing....card(s) still continue to work. And if that store partners with a service station that sells diesel and is convenient we use it there.
'They' only get info you give them....so don't.

We don't have a gas card. We use our debit card and if we run low on the bank balance we use our credit card.
We just look at the prices as we near towns and when we see a lower price we fill up.
I like Wal-Mart because we can do all of our shopping there and get gas, too but most of them are hard to get in and out of with a TOAD.
Driving with a TOAD means checking for access before committing to turning in!

One thing I did notice with the so-called discount card special prices.....I was in a hurry and ASSUMED an item that had a couple of brand names available that the one with the flag pointing to discount card members would be priced less.....NOT! I stopped and looked at the other brands and EVERY one of them was priced less than the flagged discount card one including your so-called discount!

So when they want to move inventory they just stick the discount card member sticker on it in hopes you don't really look at the other brands and just buy by grabbing the one flagged.

Have to brag: With all our holiday spending, DW had $1.80 off/gal on her Price Chopper / Sunoco card. Sure enjoyed paying $33.80 for 20 gallons of gas. Unfortunately the discount is only good for up to 20 gallons. Normally with our shopping we are in the $.20-$.40 off range and the wife just fills up her car. I never see it. But this time the MH got a good, cheap drink for a change.
