Aftermarket 120 volt element? How does that work? Where can I get one? I'd like to have one of them for my water heater. It runs on gas only and it uses more gas then anything else in the camper.

These, and other aftermarket kits are available cheaper on Ebay, about half this retail price.
That's what I observed, too. The flame that was in the water heater is about 10 times as much as the propane heater's flame.

Did some welding, today. I welded two angle iron supports for the box that is going on the A frame.

Box fitment:

I'm painting the A frame and found that the original Starcraft serial plate is still intact and not covered with paint:

The propane tank holder and brackets needed stripping so that is in progress. After I have everything painted and bolted up, I'll be adding in the breakaway and the rest of the wiring into the new box. I think if I add partions, the box will hold the wiring, two batteries and some tools. Has anyone installed a skin under their A frame? I would think that it would eliminate any road hazard coming up into the propane piping and the wiring. It could also make for some storage between the A frame beams, hmmmm.

Everything is looking great! Thanks! Plenty of things I can't do, more shameful is the amount of things I should do or just don't wanna' do.
I shot a couple of coats of paint on the old drawbar, starting with a "rust reforming" primer, followed by a couple of coats of Rustoleum flat black. I intended to follow that up with a coat or two of gloss black but the flat back is looking good! I'm wondering if I should just shoot it with some satin clearcoat and call it a day? what do you guys think?

Hmmm, that flat black does look good! Has that OEM frame look to it. But either way, flat or gloss would look good so personal preference really. I'd be tempted to leave as is though and see how it holds up. Adding a clear coat would def give some durability and keep the scratches from hitting the paint for sure. In the end, my vote is leave it flat.

Thanks, guys, I'm going to leave it flat black. I may try a clearcoat to see what it looks like. I'll have some time to think about it as we are experiencing a monsoon for the next few days and I'll wait until the rain stops.
I am finishing up on the propane holder, one more coat of paint for that, and the draw bar box. I want to get some partitions inside there so things stay organized and away from the wiring. The box will also get painted.
I will be skipping from inside work to outside work, back and forth to get the last of the things done to get the Hilton on the road. I still have a rather long punch list but RFRD (Ready For the Road Day) is approaching!

Finished the draw bar mods, except for the 7 pin harness to the truck. I thought I had some good loom in stock but nothing was Hilton quality . I'll pick something up for that, this weekend.

Inside the box is a terminal strip for the trailer wiring and a small enclosure for the break-away battery:

I checked out some battery sizes and two group 31's should be able to fit inside the box. 6V GC batteries won't work because of height, dag nab it.

You won't run out of juice with 2 group 31's. With standing pilot appliances, no furnace blower and led lights, I've found that I barely make a dent in one group 31.
