Sorry for shouting, folks, but my question pertains to Mazatlan exclusively at this time. My friend, Mike, might come to Mazatlan after all this winter, and asked me to get the rates and/or phone numbers (not listed in the local phone directory) at various RV parks in town. If I were to go to the parks to inquire, I'd use taxi because that's my only means of travel for the time being (back is finally healing from major surgery... don't want to rock the boat by chancing the bus ride!) So... for those of you currently in Mazatlan, could you please post what the daily, weekly and monthly rates are in your parks? And, phone numbers of the parks, if possible? Thanks in advance for your assistance.
Lee, who is anxious to be back on the road with Mike, instead of spending time between doctor and physical therapy appointments!
I sure hope not, Clarlk! Do you have any idea what the parks charge nowadays? I'll wait a day or so longer, then try to get around to the parks by taxi. Spendy, but I promised I'd get the information! Lee
Lee:
I hope you recover soon so you can back on the bus.
We went through Mazatlan for one night on the way down and stayed at Mar Rosa on the beach for 450 pesos as a treat.
Tell Mike that the parks are not full and he can get a spot for around 20 bucks a night and weekly about 120 and monthy for 500 US.
He does not have to have a reservation - just the amibition to get SOB to see you.
Cheers: PS say hello to the Victoria girls for me.

Thanks, Lew. I was looking for something else in my card file today... and found cards for Mar Rosa, Las Jaibas and California. I was able to reach the first two. The man at Mar Rosa quoted me $350 for one night, no weekly rate, and $9500 for a month. Rates at Las Jaibas were quoted only in US dollars, which to me is a warning sign: $30 per night, $150 per week, and $450 per month. I used my best Spanish, and told the man that I live here and would be paying in pesos, then he said they would convert the pesos to equal US dollars. No way, buddy!! I'll try again tomorrow to reach California, or stop by there tomorrow afternoon. Hey, the rest of you aren't paying those kinds of fees, are you? That'd make a winter in Mexico awfully expensive. Ouch!!! Thanks for your help, Lew & Clarlk. (I'm seeing the ladies from Victoria tomorrow... will tell them you said Hola)
An RV'r from Quebec told me that they stopped by Palmul in Quintana Roo and were told the daily charge for $50/day USD. They only had pesos so they said they would convert at a bad rate. If true can't believe anyone stays there.

Good morning Lee. I would think the 9500 at Mar Rosa would be for sites on the sea wall. The sites farther back were about about half that towards the back. Just a guess.

Location location location. A front row site at mar Rosa is pretty nice. Most have tile patios and are of decent size with a million dollar view of the ocean and it is within walking distance of everything downtown. Ultra clean everything, excellent wifi (additional cost) etc etc. 9500 Pesos is around 700 dollars US or less than 25 bucks a day. The same thing north of the border would be a whole whack more. It doesn't make sense to charge less because it is in Mexico. personally I am surprised that sites like that are not closer to a 1000 bucks a month.
