I just went to the Winegard web site and look up the differences between the bat wing and the omnidirectional antenna. I would have liked to see antenna patterns or even simple gain numbers but all they give is range in miles. The Omnidirectional range is up to 35 miles while the Bat wing is 55 miles. Note the wing man add-on only improves the UHF reception.

And many of the new digital stations are in the UHF range!
