It's an El nino year and weather is usually bad all across the south in those years. Just ask the folks in Florida where they just went through some very cold temps a couple of weeks ago. Guess it may be time for everyone to SWAP their wintering places Doubt if any of the locals are complaining about getting the first significant rains in several years though. Sorry it's inconveniencing anyone.

There has been very little to complain about here in Punta Gorda Florida, this winter. Only two nights of frost warnings, and only a few days below 62 degrees. Its been sunny and over 75 most days. It was 82 today, and mostly sunny. We have had so little rain since October, our lake is down two feet.

For a change we decided to try Florida this year instead of RGV. It appears we picked a great year to be here. We have stayed in central Florida and have had temps over 70* most days since we arrived in Dec.
There were a couple of nights down near freezing, but we have had very little rain, nothing much at all.

This is our eighth year in the Tampa, Florida area and this year is one of the best. As mentioned above, the temps have been in the mid 70s' to low 80's most days and very few days of rain. Mostly just sun and gentle breezes. It doesn't get much better than this!

After reading all the posts about the weather in the RGV is why I decided to do Florida.
What Florida considered to be their worst winter was last year, a couple of nights around 32! This year it was 2 whole days around 35 at night and that is only for a few hours before dawn. The day temps always go back up to normal. Yup. I'll continue to do Florida!

Not sure when you got here but Oct, Nov. & Dec were beautiful, sunny & dry. The past month has been much wetter than normal but the rain was much needed. No frost at all this season.
