Personally I think a Colorado is a good option as a toad if you want a smaller pick-up.

I thought of looking at a Dakota but now they are gone. I used to have a Dodge Ram and sometimes really miss having a pick-up. I cannot tow a full-size truck so the towable options are fewer these days with a crew cab.

I had a loaner Colorado for a weekend a couple years back and found it pretty good.

Sully, the only thing I will say is have the wife get in and out of it and she if she is comfortable in the front and back.

Why is that? She doesnt care for Jeep Wranglers because she says they sit too high for her runty short legs ( my description...lol).

All wifey has to do is sit in the right hand seat and keep her mouth shut....

Have a 2010 Colorado that I purchased new, no problem with the vehicle thus far and it tows fine. I tow it with my gas Itasca Suncruiser MH. Went from a HD 2500 8.1 Silverado/Trailer set up to the MH and Colorado, so the Colorado doesn't ride as nice as the full size but it rides good enough for me. I liked the Toyota Tacoma but you can't tow those 4 down without mods which may cause problems with your warranty if buying new.
I have the inline 5 engine and it has performed well for me to date. I was down to the Jeep Wranger and Colorado when getting a tow vehicle and like having at least one truck, and couldn't justify keeping the HD and buying a jeep so I found this to be a good compromise. I have the four door crew cab, not a lot of room in the back but I have had four adults in the vehicle for trips of up to an hour or so without any complaints.

The Colorado does not have a steering wheel lock so you can remove the key and the wheel moves without any issues

My son owned one a daily driver over 200 miles per day never had any problems with his outside of brakes and tires that wore out.
