The transponder is only used in the RV. The tool booths sense the toad as if it were a two axle trailer. If you have a transponder in the toad, put it in the shielded bag that came with it, or wrap it in foil.
Hi Streetlight,
Did you need a special type of ezpass fast lane transponder for your rv or is a regular auto type ok? I'm thinking of getting one for the Cambria and the toad.
Thanks, Todd
I'm not Streetlight, but I can tell you that the standard transponder works at all E-ZPass toll booths regardless of the listed speed.
You guys gotta read the book. When towing a"toad"....the toads' transponder must be removed or you will be charged almost double.
No matter...the toad itself (license plate) must be "registered". If you find yourself with a "temporary", say a U-Haul trailer, you must register that trailer (including license plate) for the duration....then go back into the site and remove it.
I've run the "Express Line" EZPass at 50-55 mph...never been advised of a problem. I do wish ALL tolls had these Express Lanes...

I have the same two transponder setup for my MH. That works with the NY Thruway's MH plan, where we're charged passenger car per axle rates instead of truck rates.
When I went to Fast Lane (that's what they call it in MA) they gave me 3 transponders, 1 for the MH & toad, 1 for just the MH, and 1 for just the SUV. The one for the SUV can be used either of my two cars. When traveling with the MH and toad the other two transponders are to be kept in special bag so they aren't detected.
