It's going to be HOT in both San Antonio and Corpus. You will need all the shade and air conditioning you can get.San Antonio KOA is best for shade.Bring your own air.Don't know about Corpus Christi.

There aren't a lot of parks in Corpus Christi, but there are several in Port Aransas that are just about 15 miles from Corpus. Be advised that the bridge going into Corpus (on the north side of town) is going to be down to only one lane for quite a while for bridge repair, so that may be even more incentive to stay on Mustang Island and Port Aransas, so you can access Corpus from the east side instead.

No argument with the KOA camp in San Antonio. If you do a search on line, there are several small RV parks around the City.

As stated, there are not many camp grounds in Corpus. You might consider Mustang Island State Park. It does have elect for the AC.

You can go to Padre Island National Park. No hook ups but you can stay on the beach. Check with the guard at the entrance for beach conditions.

There are also several RV parks on the Island.

Coming from San Antonio to Corpus you take I-37 and do not go across the Harbor Bridge. It being painted is not a problem.

Just a couple of Ideas
Go to the beach and have fun.

We stayed at Texas 281 RV Park just 5 miles N of San Antonio. Much cheaper than KOA and very shady with wonderful old Oak Trees. We really enjoyed the park and would definitely stay there again. We even seriously considered it as a snowbird park but Tucson won out.

San Antonio KOA, because there's public transportation into town right across from the office.

CVN 16 is still there. I have a neighbor who was part of the initial crew when it was christened and he served aboard it until WW II was concluded.
