When you come into BC in the middle of June you will not need reservations.
Highly recommend coming through the Okanagan Valley (Kelowna) and sample some of the finest wines in the world.
Beautiful scenery and lots to see and do.

You will have a great trip with no time table for sure.

Certainly don't NEED them with thousands of great boondocking locations all over the state. One possible exception would be at Denali

It's a wonderful trip! You don't have to plan very much - just drive , look and marvel. Here's a link to our blog posts from last summer - http://rollinginarv-wheelchairtraveling.blogspot.com/search/label/ALASKA

Alaska state camp grounds do not have a reservation system. National Forest Service campgrounds have a reservation system, Reserve America.

The only reservations we made were for the campgrounds within Denali NP. We did not boondock and had nice campgrounds every night. We found the Alaskan Camping book by Terry and Mike Church to be invaluable.

Our experience was exactly the same as Can-AMDuo's, except that we did boondock a few nights. Just arrive at most campgrounds around mid-afternoon and you'll probably be able to get a spot. If not, just drive down the road a few miles and find a boondock site. And ditto on the Church's book -- in many ways it's more useful than the Milepost, although you really should have both.
